The 1.9 TDi 130bhp utilises a mixture of Honeywell & Garrett Turbo chargers depending on application. All the 130?s are fitted with side mounted intercoolers which provide good performance from the PD engine. We utilise torque limiters in our modified software to ensure the engine speeds reach 2,250rpm before bringing in maximum torque, this ensures a higher lbft torque figure to be achieved whilst maintaining clutch life. The output we set on these engines varies according to vehicle as we tune to ensure clutch life is maintained for standard vehicles. We can achieve figures well over 250bhp with the fitment of uprated turbos and front mounted intercoolers. We develop all of our software on the rolling road to ensure accuracy in terms of both power delivery and also to ensure fuelling, boost pressures and exhaust gas temperatures are all within tolerance. Our aim is for maximum power whilst maintaining optimum reliability.

I have an Audi A4 130 sport tdi, with a tiptronic gearbox. I noticed something was different as I drove off the drive on the test drive, and have to say how impressed I was with the 1st impressions. I have now done about 500 miles and have a much better feel for the changes from an extra 55BHP and 80ft/lb of torque.

It really is like driving a completely different car. There is much better throttle response and although the ECU and auto box still take a second or so to sort themselves out when pulling away from stationary, there is a marked improvement. The huge increase in torque has transformed the low-rev pulling power and although the auto box makes me largely unaware of what gear I am in, there is no doubt that the car pulls like a train when it is going up hill, and in a higher gear than before.

The car seems to be quieter and smoother than before.

Acceleration is phenomenally different. The gearbox has "drive" and "sport" settings, and since the remap performance in "drive" is only marginally less than it was before in "sport" before. There is just no need to slip it in to "sport" or use the tiptronic mode to accelerate or overtake because the mid range performance is really quite amazing. Overtaking on A roads and the motorway has been hugely transformed and can be done much more quickly and safely.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is that all the extra power seems to have made no difference at all to the fuel consumption.

Before the remap the "Sport" label referred to the suspension, wheels and seats, but the car now has true sports performance as well.
