The Transporter T4 2.5 TDi 88bhp variant is an identical setup to the 102bhp but without the addition of a top mounted intercooler. The engine uses an early high pressure pump setup with electronic boost control. Power once remapped adds a very much needed boost to torque whilst aiding improvements to fuel economy. The standard 102bhp intercoolers on these do not add much efficiency to the engine so power once remapped is not much down on the 102bhp tuned variant. We develop all of our software on the rolling road to ensure accuracy in terms of both power delivery and also to ensure fuelling, boost pressures and exhaust gas temperatures are all within tolerance. Our aim is for maximum power whilst maintaining optimum reliability.

I turned up to the pre-arranged place dubious as to how much difference it would make to my van, but having have been recommend by a mate I was positive. After what seemed like a very short time the van was ready.

I went for the test drive with Kevin and all I could think was this is a case of the emperor’s new clothes! He was telling me it was better, quicker and more powerful, but wasn't sure I could feel it! I left in the van not sure what I'd spent my money on.

During the next ten miles the van seemed to change it's characteristics. After a hundred miles the van was totally different, now having done nearly a thousand since, the van is awesome! It has masses more power, it's towing ability, ability to hold speed and torque up hills and general acceleration is vastly improved.

It takes some time to work it's self in. When it does it is an amazing difference.
