The 2.0 HDi 84bhp engine is the base tuned variant for this common rail 1 range of engines. The engine utilises an early type turbo without direct electronic control and has no intercooler fitted. The power gains at 129bhp are safe and reliable but in order to obtain more from this engine an intercooler would need to be fitted as to ensure safe exhaust gas temperatures. The intercooler off the 110bhp would be ideal but the inlet manifold and plumbing would also be required making it a substantial job. We develop all of our software on the rolling road to ensure accuracy in terms of both power delivery and also to ensure fueling, boost pressures and exhaust gas temperatures are all within tolerance. Our aim is for maximum power whilst maintaining optimum reliability.
